Radiation, MRIs and Romney

Well, I always knew not to call Mom during any Purdue basketball games, and now I realize it's best not to call during a Mitt Romney debate! :) I caught Mom at the end of the debate last night and her first words to me were, "Romney shined tonight!" I hated to interrupt, but it was so good to hear the enthusiasm in her voice! We are learning vicariously that "radiation is not for wimps"! These 3 days of radiation have brought nausea and discomfort and Mom's been a good sport, going to treatment, losing her breakfast and everything else in her stomach (that is, all but a cucumber!), and bravely returning to do it all again each new day. Today she lay under the MRI machine for 2 1/2 hours and received the wonderful news that "it" (like Mom, I don't like to say the word) is not in her brain and spine. [Mom put it this way, "There's nothing in my brain!" and Dad chuckled and said she'd better be careful how she phrased it!] Next week the doctor will give his analysis. For now, it's faith, rest, prayers, faith, crackers, more faith, prayers, and bland nutritional meals that will stay down! Go Romney - you're our man!

Praying for you!!! We all know how strong you are. Keep fighting! We will have to call you on the video phone today. I know the girls are anxious to call and see you! Don't worry, we'll be sure it's not during the game today. ;)
